Gluten is a protein that can be found in ingredients like barly, oats, wheat, and so forth. Gluten is found in many, many processed items that you can find at the grocery store. Common foods to avoid on a gluten free diet include things like pasta, cereal, bread, and crackers. Adjusting to this diet can be difficult at first, as you need to leave these foods behind (or find an alternative) forever to see the long-term effects.

So did the gluten free diet really work for me? No, it did not. Unfortunately whenever a diet asks you to take drastic steps like this, the likelihood that you will be able to keep this up long term is low.

I would suggest you find a diet that will be more suited for you, so you can keep it up for the rest of your life. I have personally had the most success with the popular weight loss program, Fat Loss 4 Idiots.
